Behind the Cloud

Introversion is misunderstood.

From the outside, it seems as though the mind is in a constant state of disinterest and does not deserve any investigation. While some emotions may break through the silence, they are short-lived because they consume a vast amount of social energy. For these reasons, introverts have been deemed dull and clueless to their surroundings.

Yet behind the cloud of silence lies a mountain of creativity waiting to be explored.

For some introverts, a lack of sociability and warmth is compensated by a flourishing imagination that is impossible to understand. While some may express their mind through verbal routes, some are wired to conceal their thoughts and opinions from the world. And when these thoughts are bottled up, they only become more intense. The brain becomes so consumed with vivid imagery that it has little energy left for social interaction.

Nonetheless, introversion can manifest itself in many ways. It could have little effect on one’s ability to thrive in social environments or it could completely immobilize the mind in such settings. The determining factor is the cloud shrouding the imagination.

Once the wind is strong enough to clear the haze, there is nothing stopping the creative force that lies behind it.
